What We Do

Ministries
King's Church has 14 ministries that are member lead and over 50% were grassroots efforts and launched by members who saw a need. They are the backbone of King's Church mission to root the gospel in Washington, DC.
Personal conversion. Purposeful living. Community connection.

Small Groups
Small Groups are the heart of King’s close-knit community. Because D.C. is such a transient city, it can be difficult to make lasting connections. These small intimate groups comprised of just 10-20 men and women offer the opportunity to both cultivate a relationship with God and develop friendships within the church. They meet on a weekly basis for Bible studies, prayer, home-cooked meals, to share laughs and advice, helping each other to grow in their faith and walk together through life’s blessings and challenges.

Men's Ministry
The Men’s Ministry is dedicated to fostering spiritual growth and fellowship among the men in our congregation. From breakfasts, outdoor trips, an annual men’s retreat, and other opportunities, the men’s ministry provides a environment where men can connect, share experiences, and support one another in their walk with Christ. At King’s Church, we are committed to empowering men to lead Christ-centered lives that benefit their families and impact the community.

Women's Ministry
The Women's Ministry emphasizes the cultivation of godly characteristics and mutual accountability among the women of our congregation. Led by a diverse group of women - young moms, grandmothers, single professional women - the ministry serves the ladies of King’s Church wherever they are in life. King’s Church wherever they are in life. From Bible studies, dinner parties hosted at homes in the area, an annual Women’s Retreat in the Virginia countryside, and other fellowship opportunities, the ministry is dedicated to empowering women to lead Christ-centered lives in a worldly city.

KCC
Nearly 40,000 young people come to DC every year as an intern. The city offers unparalleled opportunities to launch a career, but it can also be very isolating. King’s Church Collective (KCC) was started by King’s members who as former interns wanted to help other interns navigate their time in the nation’s capital. The semester-long program is a welcoming environment where interns can develop their relationship with Christ, forge meaningful connections with other students, and learn to apply the gospel to their careers through the mentorship of church members.

Family Ministry
The Family Ministry is dedicated to supporting our growing number of families, encouraging strong familial bonds and supporting them as they navigate life in the city. We provide practical assistance to parents, childcare services for date nights, Bible studies focused on strengthening the family unit, and opportunities to connect with other families in the community.

Kids Ministry
Kingdom Kids serves the youngest members of our community by encouraging them to grow in their faith in a fun and welcoming environment. While their parents attend the regular service, this Sunday-morning ministry provides gospel-centered lessons, crafts, and games to children ages infant to 4th grade.

Good Neighbor
Like any big city, D.C. has its share of community needs. King’s Church strives to be a Good Neighbor by being the hands and feet of Christ in helping to meet those needs. This outward-focused initiative partners with various DC-area nonprofits, such as food kitchens, pregnancy resource centers, and mentorship programs. The Good Neighbor Ministry exemplifies the heart of King’s church, demonstrating the power of Christ’s love to our vibrant and diverse city.

Merge
The congregation of King’s Church is made up of mostly young adults, many of whom dating and considering marriage. To meet this need, King’s Church launched Merge, a marriage-preparation class for seriously dating and engaged couples. Each group is led by a married couple and is comprised of couples in similar stages of life. The class covers topics such as communication, conflict resolution, sexual intimacy, and in-laws through a Biblical perspective. We offer both a pre-engagement and a pre-marriage version of the class.

REC Ministry
With so many interns and young adults, King’s is uniquely positioned to uses the power of sports and recreation to build meaningful relationships within the church community. Through friendly competition, recreation, and fellowship, our REC ministry connects King’s members, attenders, and friends to one another. We host events such as ice skating, Small Group Olympics, pickleball tournaments, and river tubing outings.

LEARN
The LEARN Ministry aims to empower church members to better understand and defend their faith with rigorous intellectual knowledge. It offers in-depth seminars on various Biblical topics. Recent topics have ranged from Church History, Biblical Theology, and Biblical Canon. Washington, D.C. is a highly academic environment and the population is highly educated. LEARN helps empower the young adults of this city with the tools to engage.

EQUIP
The EQUIP Ministry is dedicated to giving church members the tools to be mentors and missionaries in everyday life by partnering through semester-based free seminary courses. These courses, offered in partnership with Southeastern Theological Seminary, both impart knowledge as well as the ability to apply Biblical knowledge to daily life. Past topics have included Introduction to Missions, Introduction to Discipleship, Biblical Exposition, and Introduction to Evangelism. Members are able to take the classes for college credit.

Prayer
Prayer is the cornerstone of everything that we do at King’s Church. While it’s an integral part of every ministry, the Prayer Ministry hosts weekly pre-service prayer sessions as well as monthly prayer gatherings as dedicated times of communal intercession. The ministry emphasizes and encourages a culture of constant communication with God.

GO!
Through GO!, King’s Church takes the message of the Gospel into international communities, both here in D.C. and abroad. Understanding that missions are a critical part of God’s redemptive plan, GO! is dedicated to both equipping and sending messengers out into the field to bring hope to all nations. This year, we plan on sending out teams on three overseas trips. We’ve also expanded to include local missions in DC such as prayer and evangelism walks.

Internships
The internship program is an exciting opportunity for students who have a passion for ministry. Designed to provide “hands-on” learning, the program equips students with practical knowledge, sound theological education, and an understanding of ministry dynamics in a big city. By being in the heart of DC, the program is a one-of-kind immersive ministry opportunity for the next generation of Christian leaders.
